First Ubuntu smartphone launched – BQ Aquaris E4.5 – Life at your fingertips. A Linux based Operating System mobile device is now launched in market to compete out with some other successful OS devices. This device is available in Europe for sale online, for a limited number of users.
Note: BQ Aquaris 4.5 is available in two different OS Edition i.e with Android 4.4 and Ubuntu (available in Europe).
While the specifications of the Ubuntu device is almost same as that of mid range android and other phone i.e Quad-core MediaTek processor(Cortex-A7) with 1.3Ghz, 1GB RAM, 4.5 inch screen, 400 GPU for rendering graphics and 8GB of inbuilt memory. Talking about the software, the phone is primarily based on gesture with touch screen capable of multitasking the processes. Native Apps or HTML5 apps is supported with Ubuntu OS device, and has tied up with major developers to ensure Facebook, Twitter, Evernote, Amazon etc to make apps available on the store. Relevant Contextual information i.e nearby places reviews, news etc would be new thing a user may experience. Acquaris E4.5 will run Ubuntu Touch and Ubunut 15.04. One of the major difference from other Operating system like Android, Microsoft, or Blackberry is its design work like a desktop OS when operated in bigger screen.
