As per the recent data of  Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Indian subscriber base grew by 21.02 million to cross 1.12 billion in November 2016 . In response to exciting offer by reliance jio , it has increase of large number of subscriber. Because of such a rapid growth of subscriber,  Department of Telecom  is going to issue the new 6-series mobile number and the largest credit goes to Reliance Jio.

MSC is the acronym of “Mobile Switching Code”  which is allotted to different circle with different numeral. It is assigned by Department of Telecom (DoT). Till now Department of telecom had allotted numbers starting with 7, 8, and 9.  Reliance jio has took the storm towards market of telecom resulting in huge demand for new customer .


  • MSC codes in Rajasthan :  60010-60019
  • MSC codes in Assam :  60020-60029
  • MSC codes in Tamil Nadu :  60030-60039

In Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat , it has received 7-series MSC codes .

In Kolkata and Maharashtra , it has received 8-series MSC codes .

So As per the news by DoT,  Reliance jio is the first Telecom company in India  who is allowed to offering mobile number starting with 6-series. However, Reliance Jio will offer new numbers to some circles only.
