5G – 5th generation network – expected features

5G

Today is the era of 4G, while at one time so was of 3G. Hence, the technologies will come and go but the only thing that will remain same is the upgradation of technologies. Telecom industry has come a long way to provide its consumers with a 4th generation network. Now telecom industry is looking forward to bring the 5th generation network to its customers.

5G Network

with the introduction of 3G and 4G networks, all that was noticed was the high speed internet. Now, so is expected from 5G. By now, you must have thought of ‘ finally its an end to wait of installing app, video buffering and non stop loader’ so yes you are right, but this is not the whole story of 5G networks.

Speed

The 5G wireless data connection can be run at an 8000Gbps and this is 100 times faster than current 5G testing. This means 5G will run a lot faster than 4G.

In 2013, Journalists reported that a HD movie can be downloaded in less than half minute, on using 5G at 1GBPS. Hence, a speed of 8000 GBPS will be equal to downloading 33 HD movies in a single second.

With the ever increasing demand for communication, 5G will need to cope up with it. As by 2020, expected number of devices that will be connected to internet, ranges from 50 billion to 100 billion. So the connections, will be made run on different frequency bands, in order to cope up with the demand.

The rise in connected devices will be because of the sudden increase in the non living objects using 5G networks – also known as Internet of things.

Many vision the 5G network as the internet of things. So in order to support billion of devices, out of billions many require a longer battery life. Hence, it is expected of 5G network to be utmost efficient in low band with transmissions.

While operators like BSNL, Idea, Airtel, TATA Docomo,Vodafone are  expecting it to be launched by 2020.
