WhatsApp new status setting – Manage Privacy
New update of Whatsapp- Status Feature bring new privacy status setting also. User can control Status Privacy setting which is set to status viewed by all contact by default. Status privacy allowed you to set your privacy who can see your status updates in three different ways at:
- Menu of Whatsapp -> Settings -> Account -> Privacy -> My Status
as : To My Contacts, To My Contacts Except…, and To only Share with. Let us understand in brief that what does these three option serve to users:
To My Contacts: When you set status privacy setting to ‘My Contacts’, Whatsapp send your new status update to all your contacts which is visible for 24 hour only. This is by Default status privacy setting for all user.
To My Contacts Except…: When you set status privacy setting to ‘My Contact except….’, Whatsapp send your new status update to all your contact except those contacts which are eliminated by you in status privacy setting.
To only Share with: You can even set a status privacy to ‘only share with’ also. It allows to show your status only to those contacts ,whom you want to share with. When you set status privacy setting to ‘Only share with’, Whatsapp send your new status update to only those contacts which are selected by you and no other person can see.
Just like chats, it also provides to mute status notification of friends. But you must remember that changes to your privacy setting would not affect status updates that you have sent already. If you want status privacy for particular status then you have to change status privacy before updating your new status.
Change WhatsApp status setting – Manage Privacy
To change By default Status Privacy, you need to slide from chat window to status section. In status section, you have to tap on the overflow menu (Three Dots) in the upper right hand side of the app. Tap on Status Privacy which would take you to the ‘status privacy’ setting section where you will find all aforesaid privacy options.
Before new update of Status feature, Whatsapp was providing all privacy setting at one place which is available in new update also. So Status Privacy is also available in privacy under Account setting option. From that privacy section, User can manage who can see their personal information. User can change privacy setting for profile picture, for last seen, and for status. So here we have two options from where we can manage our status privacy.
User can also see who has viewed their status story by tapping on the eye icon at the bottom. However, the Whats App – Status Feature Update will need you to enable read recipients. If read recipients is disabled then you can not see the list of contact who has viewed your status update. Once status updated then it provides delete option also if you want to remove that update.
So, now you can set status privacy directly from the status section which is quite easy. Update your status with new Status Privacy setting.
